Préverenges , un village idyllique...
Situé à 10 km de Lausanne et un peu plus de 50 km de Genève, Préverenges est un joli petit village qui compte actuellement 4'842 habitants (situation au 31.12.09) ; son altitude est de 411 mètres.
Cette commune, connue loin à la ronde pour sa plage exceptionnelle sur le Léman, est aussi synonyme de qualité de vie et de résidence. Proche de Morges et de Lausanne, elle offre de nombreuses infrastructures de proximité.
A la fois agricole et hôte d'entreprises de technologie de pointe, ce village plein de charme et de cachet gagne à être découvert…
Un domaine de rêve...
La propriété privée se situe dans un endroit paradisiaque : au bord du lac. Un petit sentier vous mènera jusqu’au village ou plus loin encore... pour les amateurs de nature vraie et de sports de plein air, près du port du bief pour les amateurs de bateau ou de pêche.
Et pour les amateurs de sports, le tennis club de Préverenges se situe à 50m de la propriété, u ne école de voile à un environ 1 km... et le lac devant chez vous afin de profiter de tous les autres sports nautiques... De plus, vous trouverez sur l e site de la commune d'autres sociétés locales qui proposent toutes sortes de sports de collectivité, telle que la société de gymnastique de Préverenges.
One upon a time, it was a brick and tile factory…
In 1437, three Italian craftsmen were given the authorisation by the town of Morges to build a clay tile and brick factory on the west bank of the Bief river.
Fifty years later, a second brick factory was built on the east bank...
The tile factories "tuilières" of Lonay and Préverenges were located on each side of the Bief river, situated on a large clay deposit.
Thanks to this strategic location, the clay deposit was mined for 5 centuries. Water was taken from the river and the wood needed to warm to ovens from the surrounding forests. Transportation networks were setup using boats and trains.
During the XIXth century, the Préverenges factory became heavily automated and 1902 saw the construction of a 41 m high chimney which dominated five adjacent buildings. In 1907 the lack of raw materials and quality issues due to high calcareous content of the clay forced both tuillières to cease their activities, a page in history was turned.
In 1941, Mr Monsieur André Cochard decided to buy 22'000 m2 of property on the lake side against everybody. For sure, at the ages, the lake sides were infested with moskitoes, people were building industries and not far away from the property and they also wanted to built an incinerator.
On this property, is located this famous brick factory, old of 4 centuries, where finally some fishermen are living.
Later on, it's during a lovely week-end with his wife Thérèse Yolanda that Mr André Cochard had the idea to built small furnished apartments with a kitchen and bathroom to welcome tourists. In 1955, Mr Cochard began the first brick of this new building : les studios, which is the main activity : Les Studios-Week-End-Cochard.
Very creativ and novator, Mr Cochard created his own booklet with advertising and some drawings and pictures.
Today, we are no more intersting to work so much with tourism. But, this apartments are still furnished and are rented per month unstead of per day or week. The name changed too, as now the name is Studios Cochard, which is onwed by the unique children of the couple André and Thérèse Yolanda, Thérèse, who is now caring about this beautiful property. In 2004, Marie-France began to work for the studios with her mother, most of all in the backoffice. and Nicole is gardening once on a while.
This simple family story should have some nice years to live as the daughter was born in 2004 and the little guy was born in 2007 for our pleasure, the name Cochard... will survive.
At the entry of the property, is the house of the Tuilière 3. Which was an old farm of more than 200 hundred years. It was completly renovated to offer else accommodation for rent.
This house is affected by a nice 250m2 of offices, but also with two apartment and our best and luxurious creation, the loft.
In the oldest house of the Tuilières, more than 600 hundred years old. It was the old tilery and was factoring briks and tiles for the neighbourhood.
And soon, became fishmen's house and afer some tourists. Year 1992, it completly burnt. A story page had to be turned with difficulties, but was renovated entielry. Now, it has 6 luxury apartments.
We come forward, we modernised, always more, but on our rhythm.
We renovate each apartment when we can do it, trying our best to please tenants and ourselves.

We fall in love with this old cottage, it was une grande folie...
From 1699, it was renovated by their owner in 1976. Despite the pop decoration form the 70' and evertything to be refurbished, we decided to buy it in 2008.
We have done a lot to renovated one of the two apartments. The renovation of the 1st apartment was finished in September 2010,
the other one is dark and psychedelic style from the 70', it's only waiting our hands and courage to finish it... Thanks to all who were helping us in this challenge, particulary to SMFD...
